Bye bye Reilly - Hello Missy!

Kingcroft Tickled Pink
Reilly headed off to boot camp yesterday morning. It was all a bit sudden in the end as the transporter that I use (Steve/Woodville Horse Floats) has not had a run to Wellington for weeks but was delivering a mare (Missy) for Robbie and offered to make a one-off trip over the hill for me. Just as well he did as I took my horse float in yesterday and turns out it is going to cost me a few hundred dollars to get it road legal - bugger!

Reilly loaded very kindly. He was a little unsure because he has never seen a truck before but Nick lead him and Steve and I just linked arms behind him and gave him a little encouragement and on he went. As soon as he had arrived I had a pxt from Kim and a pile of txts and he apparently settled straight down to the very important job of eating the mid calf length grass in his paddock, after having a bit of a cuddle of course! Can't wait to see the two of them together - it's about time he had a bit of an adventure too.

Missy has come from Alfredton and will be Robbie's final 'date' before he heads off on his long journey to his new home in Oamaru. She's been here before as was bred to Hamish by her previous owners andI now own the resulting filly. Missy is a very nice type of mare with quite a forthright personality. I own her first foal, by Hamish, Saffron (TF Zafferano).

Speaking of Saffy, I went out with my camera to take some photos of Mack yesterday and took a plastic bag with me (very handy for ears forward shots) but Saffy just wanted to eat the damned bag! I managed to get a few pretty amusing photos of her and Mack being eejits. I also got a couple of beautiful Twinkle that I will share.

Our hay was cut the day before yesterday and the contractor managed to do all but two paddocks - unfortunately the paddock up the road was just a bit too problematic for him to get in and out of and the smaller of the two here at home was the same. No matter, should be plenty in the four we got cut plus the big paddock our neighbours are doing across the road. Not looking forward to humping all those bales tho!!!

Bags of fun anyone???

Plastic bag wrapped around my leg? What plastic bag?
Perhaps I can parachute with it?
Mack would like the bag - Saffy says 'I don't think so!'
Trying for lift off again
