Welcome home Robbie

Well Robbie is back from his holidays serving mares up north and it is lovely to have him back in our paddocks. He's looking a tiny bit the worse for wear after being 'on the road' for nearly a week but I am sure after a few good night's sleep in his old paddock and a belly full of food he will be feeling much better. Poor boy was clearly very tired and I doubt the truck driver getting stuck up our road for half an hour helped! Then it took 10 minutes to get the door to open and then he had to stand at the top of the ramp for ages before he was allowed to walk off - such a good boy, did everything he was told and was a complete angel. Love ya Rob and it's so nice to have you home.

Um, don't try and turn around there Mr Truck Driver

Robbie really just wanted to get off and eat!

New video with photos and clip missed out

So yesterday in my enthusiasm to get everything on to the computer, I missed a couple of photos and a video clip so have re-done the video with the missing footage.

Go Reilly Go!

Today I popped the poles up a bit and gave him a spread. It seems the bigger, the better as far as Reilly is concerned. Unfortunately the young woman who was going to ride him for me this season is no longer able due to work and her own horse commitments but we are working on an alternative so hopefully things will fall into place in time.

Meanwhile, today I stood in the middle of the paddock and took photos and video as Reilly took himself around and around and around over the jumps! I had to stop him in the end! Didn't want him doing himself a mischief. He really enjoyed himself though and is starting to show better form in front which is great (was beginning to wonder if that was ever going to happen). I cannot wait to see him doing this with a rider. I think Show Hunter will be a good place to start him - I am sure he will love it and he has a nice natural rhythm.

Liberty work with Reilly

So Reilly is bored and, with me broken, the only real option is liberty work so that is what we have done for the last two days. He had a ball and I got some great exercise so, it was win:win. Today I took a couple of photos myself and then luckily Nick came up with the other camera and was able to take over. Here are a selection of pix and from today's 'play date'. He had just had a wee bath and the first thing he wanted to do, of course, was roll but I was having none of it!!!

Note all four feet off the ground here, haha!
What to you mean I am not allowed to roll?!
Having a tanty!
Learning to jump
Bit of a stretch
Whee!
Jumpin' 4 fun
