For Sale - TF Temperance Brennan

Beautifully proportioned 2 year old Connemara x Irish Sport Horse filly. Currently standing 145cm. Branded and registered with the CPSNZ (Connemara Pony Society of NZ), TF Temperance Brennan (Tempi) is by the Class 1 inspected purebred Connemara stallion Crossiebeg Brennan and out of Rei Huia Bernadette (Hifalutin x Shannon by Laughtons Legend). With bloodlines boasting such outstanding performance names as Aberlou, Domo Cavallo Praize, Super Stud and Laughtons Legend, this starry filly absolutely WILL jump - she has the movement to make you sit up and notice too!

Tempi’s dam was never unplaced in her Show Hunter starts (up to 1.05m) and finished with no jumping faults in her only Horse Trial (CNC95) until injury cut her ridden career short when she was just five years old. Her brief competition record speaks for itself (and can easily be sent to anyone interested in purchasing Tempi) and her technique over a fence was exceptional. Tempi’s sire is a fantastic all-round performance pony, excelling both on the flat and over fences (he has a particular love/talent for cross country) and happily schooling up to 1.05m (XC and over poles) in limited training outings and over 1.25m+ free jumping. Brennan’s competition career has been restricted only by his owner’s lack of finances and the lack of a regular competition jockey.

As a foal Tempi somehow managed to injure her right eye. The injury received immediate, appropriate and regular veterinary attention and does not appear to affect her sight in any way. There is however cosmetic scarring to the eye. I am sure that our Vet would be happy to discuss this with potential purchasers and we are more than happy for potential buyers to have her vetted themselves.

This is a thoughtfully bred, well-handled and very classy filly with a super attitude. She has been regularly drenched over her lifetime, had her hooves trimmed every 6-8 weeks, been taught to lead and tie and will load on a float happily prior to sale. She wears a rug and is always good to catch. She’s had an excellent start to her life and whilst we would love Tempi to go to a home where she will be given the opportunity to shine in the performance arena, most important is a home where she will be valued and loved. $3750 - Price is negotiable, home is not!

Freejumping photos and video to come (not yet had time to manage these).

Jock Paget Clinic 2014

This weekend Toffee, Louisa and I made the trek up to Waipukurau so that Toffee could attend a two day clinic with Jock Paget. Both horse and rider had a successful weekend and have come home with some great homework. We were very pleased with how Toffee equipped herself on both days. By the end of Day 1 she was pretty tired as she had probably jumped more in the one day than she has over the period of her entire ridden life! The weather was not particularly kind with gusty gale force winds that were strong enough to topple the jumps at times but horse and rider coped admirably.

Day 2 was cross country and so we headed off to Arran Station. Toffee had a few moments of anxiety when she could no longer see her travelling buddy and new BFF Chrome but she settled at the float and we were able to leave her and wander out and watch some other riders which presented such a great learning opportunity. When Toffee's turn came, she tried very hard and was very brave. We love the Toffmonsta!
