A Great Opportunity!!

We are on the hunt for a young, competent and deserving local rider (teenager or adult) to campaign Crossiebeg Brennan (all costs covered) locally this season.

This rider would get the opportunity to compete (fairly limited outings) in dressage/show hunter/show jumping/eventing & attend lessons and clinics on our promising young Connemara pony stallion.

This will be an UNPAID position, however we will cover lesson/clinic costs and all show entry fees. Rider must be kind, experienced and confident – we consider this an exceptional opportunity for a talented young rider to bring on a talented young pony with plenty of support from his dedicated owners.

Sound like something you would like to do? Perhaps you know a rider who would be perfect? Please email talisman.farm@gmail.com or phone 06 372 5922 with details. We look forward to hearing from you!

Brennan's gone to school!

Today we made the journey down to Martinborough to take Brennan to Gavin Morison's for 'breaking in'. He loaded quietly and happily into the float and travelled like a dream. When we got there, there was another horse leaving and a truck and a few people around but he wasn't phased and unloaded quietly. I popped him in the big round pen to start and let him soak up some of the atmosphere. I half expected him to have a bit of a trot around and a shout but he was very chilled. He had a 'chat' to a couple of horses in the next paddock and a bit of a look about and that was it. We popped his rug back on and left him to chill out whilst Gavin sorted out paddocking arrangements. I miss him already but he's in great hands and he is going to LOVE having something to do and I really cannot wait to see him under saddle.

Very exciting news!

Have had the call to say that Gavin is ready for Brennan so he is heading off to start his education under saddle this weekend - Woo hoo!!!!

In other news, we took a drive to Wellington today to collect half of the hay we are buying off a friend to top up our supply and hopefully get us through the last of this horrible winter. The remaining hay will be delivered tomorrow - Woot! I am feeling quite relieved to have another 74 bales to play with I can tell you!

Short entry, just wanted to share the 'news'!
